Annie McLeod
Our Great-Great- Grandmother
Annie was born on November 16,1934, in Glengarry, Ontario, to Roderick McLeod and Kathleen McQuaig. She was the oldest of ten children.
Annie married William Alexander McCaskill before 1859. They had eleven children.
On August 19, 1888, a few months short of her 54th birthday, Annie died. At the time of her death, she had several children still at home: Maggie Ann, 9; Kenneth, who turned 12 a week before her death, Roderick, 15; and James 16, along with their older siblings: Kathleen, our great-grandmother, 20; and Christie, 27. It is also possible that Alexander, 18 and Maggie (Margaret), 22 were still at home. Margaret married Peter Lothian, the great-uncle for whom Clarence Smith is named for. The other children: Sarah, Catherine and Annie were no longer at home.
Annie and her husband are buried in the McLaughlin Cemetery, Vankleek Hill, Ontario.

The children of William Alexander McCaskill and Annie McLeod, along with their spouses. Clarence Xavier Dodd, the grandson of David Adam Dodd and Kathleen McCaskill was generous enough to pass this on to Bev, along with a wealth of information on the Dodd family. Number 1 is David Adam Dodd and number 2 is Kathleen McCaskill, our great-grandparents - the parents of Jessie Margaret Dodd. Unfortunately, Clarence has not yet been able to identify the other children. If that information becomes available, I'll include it here.
